Really excited about this coming series!  Here is what we are talking about!  Check it out.

Week 1 – February 13

When I’m 64…Scripture Focus: Proverbs 29:18 Ephesians 5:22-23

This generation needs a vision.  Proverbs 29:18 states that where there is no vision the people will perish.  For too many years we have stood before this generation and have said not to have sex before they are married, not to date this kind of person, etc.  We see students fail to stay pure until marriage is because the church has put a task ahead of a vision.  When we have rules for living without a vision to live in a Godly relationship with Christ, we will only see rebellion.  This week we will be setting a vision for students to fall so passionately in love with Jesus that their standards can’t help but be raised.  It’s time to bring up a generation of Jesus loving students with attitudes of knowing what sexy is all about:  GIRLS-“ Don’t put your hands on my body until you put a ring on my finger.”  GUYS-“Sexy is being like Jesus, and having enough self-control to keep my hands to myself.”  Because in essence…what you do now has the potential to greatly affect you When You Are 64.

Week 2 – February 20

NEXT: 4 Ways To Mess Up Your Life Through Sex and Dating   Scripture Focus: Psalm 86:11, 2 Corinthians 6:14, Ephesians 2:1, Proverbs 13:20 and 24:6, Ephesians 5:3, Proverbs 4:23

1)       Don’t set any physical or emotional boundaries.  2)       Spend all your time daydreaming about love and virtually no time pursuing Jesus.  3)       Date people who aren’t Christians or who say they are, but don’t live like it at all.4)       Ignore the advice of people who know what they’re talking about, and who are committed to telling you what you need to hear, not just what you want to hear.

This week should be a light approach to speaking some essential truths when it comes to sex, dating, and love.   Week 3- February 27

All You Need Is Love

This week we will be challenging students not to try to find their significance through one guy or girl after another.  No one can complete you but Jesus (Matthew 6:33 – seek first His kingdom)  Pour out your heart to Him, enjoy what you have, be content in your stage of life.  Turn to the Lord when you mess up, when you struggle, when you’re lonely, and when you’re lost.  No guy or girl can ever bring you the satisfaction you find in Christ when you seek Him first. Students can never hear this enough.    We are excited about this series!  We know that through this series many students will be challenged and encouraged to begin living a life worthy of their calling as Christ followers.  We also know these topics are sometimes hard for parents to have open communication with their students about.  Please feel free at anytime to call our student ministry with questions and ways we can help you and your student through this series.  Thank you for allowing us to partner with you, the primary discipler of your student.  Chris

One Response to “Bringing Sexy Back”

  1. This is a hard subject to take on but I’m glad you guys are. It’s a huge deal with the middle & high school kids - kind of scares me how early this starts playing a role in their lives as I have three young ones.
