I got back from Drive last night. It was great. I have been glad to be home to spend time with Dawn tonight. We are both excited about this adoption and she has worked so hard to make it go as quick as possible.
This week while I was at Drive I began to look at ministry from a different lens. The lens of a future parent. One of the things the Lord has laid on my heart more and more is parent ministry. One of the things I was challenged with the most in my Parent Ministry break out was the idea of hours. The church will only see a “regular” student 40 hours a year while a parent has well over 2000 hours with their child. Which do I work harder on, the 40 hours I have a student or equipping the parent that has 2000 hours with them?
We must begin to equip parents to disciple their students because 40 hours can only go so far.
